English version
Everyone, do you know the word oshi?
It means something or someone you love so much that you want to recommend them to others. It can be used for idols, actors, anime, characters, tourist spots, food—really, almost anything. Spending money or taking action to support your oshi is called oshi-katsu (oshi activities).
So, what’s your oshi?
My oshi is a girl group called HANA. These girls were formed through an audition program called No No Girls. I absolutely love this audition show (‘▽’)!
The producer of HANA, the singer Chanmina, held auditions with the message:
“Height, weight, and age don’t matter. Just let us hear your voice and your life.”
Seeing the emotional growth and the progress in skills of the girls who had always been told “no” before made me feel like I had to cheer for them. It was so moving—I even cried!
If you like audition programs, you might already know about this. But you can also find it on YouTube and other social media, so if you’re interested, please check it out.
